My Story of Burnout to Breakthrough

It started with a Cricut machine, more than a couple of trips to the craft supply store, the simple joy of creating again, and two Tizzies on a mission. Our pains and our joys, turned into art, and art turned into a business — one that finally felt right. Morningstar Kreations was born out of rebellion, healing, and self-discovery. It’s a reminder that it’s never too late to choose yourself.

For years, I worked 9-to-5 jobs where I poured my energy into helping managers and executives succeed. I climbed the ladder, gave my all, and kept chasing the feeling of “I made it.” But every time I'd get capped in my position and I ended up burnt out and unfulfilled. My mental health would hit rock bottom, and I’d feel trapped in this cycle of working myself into exhaustion just to feel seen.

Quitting my last stable job of nearly four years was terrifying. The thought of starting over filled me with so much anxiety. But deep down, I knew I wasn’t living — I was just surviving. Meeting my partner, Taylor, changed everything. Their passion for creating helped me rediscover my own. For the first time in years, I felt inspired again. Together, we started making art — for friends, for ourselves, for joy — and the feeling was indescribable.

Moving to Washington was our leap. We sold nearly everything, left behind our comfort zone in Utah, our friends, and drove toward a new life. At first, we thought we’d found our dream job at a local shop. But soon, the same old pattern returned, and we found ourselves being overworked, underappreciated, and drained. That’s when we made the decision that changed everything: "Why keep building someone else’s dream when we can build our own?"
